HAIR & UNIFORM CHECK on DAY 1 of 2008

There will be a check on student hairstyles and attire on Wednesday 2nd January 2008. Students are strongly advised to get your haircut according to our school requirements. Please refer to your Marsiling Companion Diary for details. Students who come to school with long and/or unkept hair will be referred immediately to the school barber. There will be two barbers on hand to carry out haircuts.

Students who have tinted or coloured hair may be asked to to return home immediately after their parents have been contacted. In some cases, parents may be asked to come to school to explain and take their child/ward home.

The school emphasises proper attire and personal grooming, in its efforts to develop Marsilings as role-model students.

PAE online regristration will be from 8.30 am on 19 Nov (Mon) 2007 to 4.00 pm on 21 Nov (Wed) 2007. Students who missed the PAE briefing on 15 Nov, you are reminded to collect the Form A and information booklet from Ms Intan in the general office.

Computers and printers for internet registration are available from 8.30 am on 19 Nov (Mon) 2007 to 4.00 pm on 21 Nov (Wed) 2007. Pls see Mdm Azizah in CPA lab 2.

Venue: CPA lab 3

Singapore Polytechnic Open House 2008

Singapore Polytechnic will be having their Open House 2008 in early January next year. The details of the Open House are:

Date: 10th to 12th January 2008
Time: 10am to 6pm
Venue: SP Campus (Convention Centre & the Plaza)

Do register through your form teacher when you start school in January if you are keen to attend the Open House.

Little India Trip - A gastronomic journey filled with spices and colours!!!

A few of our Marsiling staff had a whale of a time at Little India on 6 November 2007. Since Deepavali was just round the corner, we had the opportunity to take a tour at the bazaar where the ladies shopped and the men....err...well, they stood at one corner and looked nonchalant. A handful of us had our hands tatooed with henna while we gazed at the colourful decorations surrounding us. But I must say, the highlight of the day was lunch where our tour-guides (our Tamil teachers of course) explained in great detail about the difference between North Indian and South Indian cuisine. And when it came to deciding which eating place served the best Indian food? The vote was clear...they were all GOOoooood.....Yummy!! So if you can, take a trip down to Little India during the festive season and see this part of Singapore like you've never seen it before. One piece of advice though: when crossing the road, 'cross like the Indians do'. (Do refer to Mr. Moothy for an explanation... )
