The ExCEL award, presented to teachers by MOE,
aims to promote and recognize the implementation of
innovative practices in schools. Three of our teachers,
Mr Loke Hong Yew, Mr Dennis Toh and Mr Yeo Tiong Meng were honoured
with this prestigious award in the category of Best
Suggestion of the Year (2007). The award was presented
by Dr Ng Eng Hen, Minister for Education and Second Minister
for Defence, at the MOE ExCEL Fest 2008.
The team’s winning suggestion depicts the use
asynchronous online discussions to create a vibrant
learning environment for students in Design and
Technology. This online platform and its features
provide a conducive environment for students to engage
in the process of problem-solving through
critical-thinking.
Our three award-winning teachers are now working
with other departments in the school to expand the
boundaries in knowledge creation through innovative
teaching and learning. |
